We went to a great restaurant for breakfast and then Shell & Rene happily checked out of their hotel. Unfortunately they were staying there at the busiest time of the year and the Mexicans like to party late and party loud. They didn't get much sleep.
This is the first part of the driveway. It turns right at the top.
We went to the market in La Cruz, then did some grocery shopping at Mega.
Our sleepy little town was back to normal. All the Christmas vacationers had gone home.
We invited some friends up to the Casa for snacks and swimming. Everyone commented on the hike up the hill.
Beautiful morning view from the Casa.
The evening of Jan. 7th the Perez Brothers were playing at the RV park next door. They played some good dancing music including the Macarena. It was fun.
Jan. 8:
We went for a walk to town and checked out this colourful place. We plan to go to their rooftop patio for a beer one day.
That evening we had reservations at a fancy restaurant in Los Ayala which is up on a hill and has a beautiful view of the beach at Rincon Guayabitos. When we arrived there was a 7 piece band playing so loud that we had to scream at the waiter. We asked how long the band would be there. He wasn't sure because there was a large group of Mexicans celebrating a birthday and they had hired the band. We left and found a restaurant in Rincon Guayabitos that turned out to be excellent.
We went up to a rooftop patio to see the view of Lo de Marcos.
On the way to take Shell & Ren to the airport we stopped in San Pancho for lunch.
That evening Dave and I went to San Pancho to see one of our neighbours, Tony, perform with a female blues singer from St. Louis. San Pancho is a very cool town.
Jan. 11:
Open mic was held at the RV park two doors down.
The Lo de Marcos Boom Beach Fest has been taking place Jan. 16 & 17. We have been spending a lot of time at the beach watching the action. The stand up paddle board competitions happened right in front of our RV park. That is also where they were giving away the free drinks.
Well, I am up to date. If you're wondering what took me so long...........I'm really busy! Yoga once a week, exercise class twice a week, Spanish class twice a week, and then there's walking, going to the beach, happy hour, music nights, everyday chores, etc. Whew!
