Wow! It's been a month since my last blog. Where to start?
An evening beach panorama picture.
My Christmas lights at night.
Dave pulled a tree out of the ocean & Cleo thought it was good to chew on. Salty.
We had open mic night at Tomatina, the restaurant in our RV park. It's a great spot, right next to the beach.
We had a group of Mexican children come around to our campsite to sing. This is a picture of a video.
We're not too sure what this guy was trying to do.
This cowboy usually comes down the beach every day drinking a beer.
Another Wednesday evening of music in the square. A girl from our park inviting someone to dance.
We went to the Santa Claus parade on December 17th. First time we didn't have to "bundle up".
Waiting for the parade to start.
Here comes Santa Claus.
After the parade, all the kids line up in the square according to age groups, to receive a gift.
Some lily pads we pass on our walk back from town.
Santa greets us at the RV park.
Roosters are a normal sight in town.
An iguana I saw on my walk one day.
Casa Blanca, the house at the top of the hill, as seen from our campsite. My sister and her husband are renting it when they come to visit.
Lots of birds, I think they are egrets.
On Saturday nights you can buy churros, which are kind of like donuts.
Another open mic night, this time at an RV park a couple of doors down from ours.
There was a really good turnout and lots of dancing. One of the best music nights so far.
We went for a drive to explore the nearby towns of Rincon Guayabitos and Los Ayala.
We stopped for a beer. A beer is the same price as a Coke which is $1.44.
A little Mexican girl brought her stuffed dog to show Cleo.
Guayabitos has a very busy beach compared to ours.
The scenery on our other morning walk when we don't do the hills.
I was making a dessert which called for chocolate chips. I had to make my own.
Christmas Eve day was beautiful and everyone was in the water.
Christmas morning we FaceTimed with our kids and grandkids.
We got a nice gift from a couple in the park.
It was another beautiful beach day.
The beach is getting busier because a lot of Mexicans come from Guadalajara for vacation.
We had a potluck Christmas dinner.
In the evening we went up to the palapa for desserts and music.
On Boxing Day we walked in to town and saw some horseback riders.
I started to get sick that night with what was likely dengue fever. I had the symptoms of high fever, headaches, etc. I did go to the doctor after a couple of days and that's what he thought I had. The only way to tell for sure is with a blood test which I would have to go to another town for. If it was dengue there is nothing they can do for it anyways. The good news was, this years version of dengue is very short, just 3-5 days so by the time I went to the doctor it was almost done.
Dec. 29:
My sister Shelley and her husband Rene arrived from BC. The next day was cloudy off and on.
You can buy donuts on the beach.
The beach was getting busier.
Dave found this interesting bug on our barbecue.
We went to a great restaurant for New Years Eve dinner, then for a walk, then to another restaurant for dessert. They were playing great music at the second restaurant.
After dessert we went dancing. They had some pretty funky lights there.
At midnight all of the partiers were given Chinese lanterns to light on fire and release.
It didn't seem like the best idea.
We had a great time and managed to stay up past midnight.
Well, I've made it to the end of 2015. Happy New Year! To be continued........
