We saw signs for the free 72 oz steak for many miles before we got to Amarillo. We assume you would have to eat it all to get it for free and that's just not happening.
So we bought a kind of a blender. First attempt, piña coloda. Not bad. So, we arrived at our "campground" in Amarillo, Texas and I immediately knew we were really close to the highway. Dave also commented that we were really close to a train track, however I hadn't noticed that yet. What I did notice within about 2 minutes of arriving was that planes, and I mean jumbo jets, were practically landing on our trailer. This picture does not do it justice. Dave got some better pictures but we can't share because we don't have wifi.
There is an emu & a burro that come to visit because some people in the campground feed them. Dave got some great pictures but again we can't share. I got one of the burro.
So, we drove a long distance today on the Turner Turnpike in Oklahoma. We followed the instructions on our GPS, and when she said to take the lanes for Pikepass Only, we did. We went through a couple of those and the lanes to the right said they were for cash customers. We pondered the situation and figured we probably belong to the "cash customers" line. After doing a bit of research online I'm pretty sure they have our license plate number and we will be hearing from "someone". They really need to be more specific with their instructions for us rookies.
