Almost home

We really enjoyed our time on Vancouver Island.  We were able to spend a lot of time with family and friends.  We went to the Crow and Gate for lunch with friends we met in Mexico.
We loved all of the hiking trails at our "new" campground.

Cleo had fun spending time at my sister's with her "cousin" Haley.

My sister Shelley and her friend Nancy enjoying some really good sipping tequila.
Cleo chill-laxing.
This awesome trailer is for sale!  Dog not included.
More terrific trails.

One beautiful day we went for a walk all the way around Westwood Lake.

This was the day I wished I had a marshmallow.
Adorable Cleo.
We went to Shelley and Rene's lake house at Lake Cowichan and Shell and I went to see a wild flower ecological area.

The next day all four of us and the dogs walked part of the trans canada trail.
All too soon it was time to say goodbye to these munchkins.

A lady in our campground gave this Chromonica harmonica to Dave as a gift.
We left Vancouver Island on April 23rd and went to stay at a Walmart in Coquitlam.  We wondered if we had made the right decision about where to camp.  This was the view out our window.
We went for dinner to our good friends Debbie & Brian's house, then to Whiterock to watch Brian play. We had a great time but it was a very late night/early morning for us.  We are out of practice.
The next day started out rainy.
Cleo went to the beauty parlour and we spent the day with Brian & Debbie and their family.
We camped that night at a casino in Coquitlam.
The next day we were headed for Westbank near Kelowna to visit my aunt and uncle.
I was not crazy about some of the weather we had on the Coquihalla.

Cleo made herself right at home at Auntie Ja and Uncle Stu's.
We spent the night at Walmart along with several other RV's and even tenters.  We left on a beautiful morning.

We had beautiful scenery and great road conditions.

Still quite a bit of snow on the side of the road.
We arrived at our campground in Donald, BC to beautiful weather.

Cleo found the cows next door very interesting.
The next day we left to head for the Icefields Parkway which goes from Lake Louise to Jasper.

Poor Cleo was cold with her new haircut.
We finally saw some wildlife.

We're not even on the Icefields Parkway yet and we're seeing ice.
We took so many pictures on the parkway it's hard to choose.

We had to wait for this guy to get out of the way.

We have arrived at our campsite for the night, half way up the parkway.

It was very cold and the wind howled all night.  I was sure we were going to wake up to four feet of fresh snow.
Luckily, the next day was bright and clear.
We were excited to be heading for the Miette Hot Springs and very disappointed to discover they don't open until May 8th.
We passed by Becker's Roaring River Chalets near Jasper where we had a great time with our kids many years ago.

We stopped for a picnic in Hinton, AB.  Cleo was so happy she rolled all over the grass.
Our home for the night was Cabela's in Edmonton.
It was so windy we thought the trailer was going to blow over in the night.
The next day we went to visit friends in Bonnyville, AB.  We camped in their driveway and they fed us some amazing meals.  We had a great time catching up and enjoyed the beautiful view.

Today we travelled to Saskatoon.
We were completely out of water and had a heck of a time finding some.  None of the sani dumps or gas stations have their taps turned on yet.  We finally got water at a car wash.
We are camped at a Flying J truck stop and I'm sitting in Denny's using their wifi.  The RV lifestyle can be pretty glamorous.
