Fun with Family

Dec. 1
Another great day on the beach with some big waves.
Margarita time.
Dec. 2
Off to the airport to pick up Shelley & Darren.
The happy reunion.
Time to hit the beach.  Cleo is being closely followed by her boyfriend, Buha. (Sounds like Buddha, without the d).
Playing in the waves.

Shelley is going to try boogey boarding.

We went to the square in the evening to hear some live music.
Darren tried out the car in the square which was made by an artist who spends every winter here.
Dec. 3
Back to the beach.
Shelley & I enjoyed being cooled off by the waves lapping at our feet.
We got a little more than our feet wet that time.
Here it comes again.
Save the pina colodas!

That was fun and completely unexpected!  We had sand everywhere!
Dec. 4
We were off on an adventure to find the Jamurca Hot Springs.
Pretty drive on cobblestones.
Almost there.
There are four hot pools.  They have to add cold water to cool them down.

A shady spot to hang out.
We had the whole place to ourselves.  I'm sure it gets much busier when the weather cools off a bit.

Time to moooove on.
A bit of water across the road.
A road I'm really glad we didn't have to travel.
Sure glad we aren't towing our trailer.
We are now on a different road going to see "cocodrillos".

We had a guide who didn't speak any English but surprisingly we were able to understand most of what he was telling us.

The "Three Musketeers" like to hiss at you.
Some of these critters were found in people's homes.
Pretty creepy.
The guide's dog.
Dinner with a great view.
If you've never had a dish called molcajete, I highly recommend it!  The margarita was pretty good too!
Dec. 5
Another great day of boogey boarding.
Yummy ribs & veggies for dinner.
Dec. 6
We went to a great place for my birthday breakfast.

We sampled this at Costco one day.  Can't wait to open it when I have fridge space.
It was a great day for playing in the waves.
I got some great videos, but don't know how to put them on here.
Dec. 7
Lots of surfers hoping to catch a wave.
A small jam Monday night with Darren, Tony & Dave.
Dec. 8
Cleo & I chilling.  She hurt her pad as usual,so we're not letting her run the beach today.
Dec. 9
We took Shelley & Darren to the airport. 😩. One reason they will be happy to get home is to get a good sleep.  They had a great sleep the first night here and were rudely awoken by really loud "shooting" the second night, and that continued the whole time they were here. The Mexicans have a tradition of shooting off cannons and fireworks, as well as ringing church bells three times a day, beginning at 5:00 a.m., for the nine days leading up to the day they celebrate Our Lady of Guadalupe which is December 12th.  Shelley thought the first night that someone was trying to steal the turtle eggs and there was a big battle going on.  I gave them ear plugs and they were able to sleep through a lot of it.
Dec. 10
We were invited to a party at the opposite end of the beach from us.  It was a magical evening.  Palm trees, waves crashing, great food, great people and great music.  Oh ya, there was tequila too.  What more could you ask for?
That's Dave up there.

Dave is playing with some other people.
There were about 70 people at the party and probably about 20 of them performed.
What a great evening!
Dec. 11
Cleo had a great time on the beach.

Eventually we had to restrain her because we didn't want her to hurt her foot again.  Sometimes she just needs a timeout.
Dec. 12
Yesterday we had a rainy day.  We went for a walk down the beach and into town in the morning in a light rain.  The rain got heavier through the the day.  We just hung out under the awning.  I think Cleo was trying to tell me she was bored and wanted to go to the beach.
Dec. 13
Today I did my Christmas decorating and took my eggnog out of the freezer to thaw.
Inside:
Colton made us the penguin last year.  It's our favorite!
Outside:  There are lights on the palm tree but you probably can't see them.
Whew!  That was exhausting!
