Washington

We arrived in Washington and were soon in our campsite at Long Beach for the night.
Once we got set up we took Cleo for a walk to the beach.

Home for the night.
The next morning was raining lightly.

Here comes another bridge.

What a dreary day.

Arriving at our home for the night.  I think you have to play to win.

Trying the local brew.
What to do with no power when you're tired of reading.
Or you could do this.
The morning started out OK.
More cloud & rain.

Dave thought this looked like the church from The Blues Brothers movie.

Yuck.

I see blue sky.
Oopsie.  We did that trying to turn around.  Good thing we have four wheel drive.
What an awesome campsite in Fall City, Washington.
The weather cooperated and we had a great fire.

Back to rain the next day and a short drive to another casino.
Cute town of Snoqualmie with lots of construction taking place.
Trains for Colton.
Our casino campsite.
Once we got set up we headed into Seattle.

The water was as high as the bridge.

We found a very expensive parking spot near the Seattle Space Needle and walked to Pike's Place Market.
Some of the streets reminded me of San Francisco.

The market is huge and very busy.
This is what I came to see, the Pike Place Fish Market.  Some of you will know why.  If you are curious, just ask me.

Local beer and the best bowl of clam chowder I've ever had.
The Ferris wheel was operating.
We walked back to the Space Needle and I attempted to get all of it in a picture.
We then went to the E.M.P.  (Experience Music Project). It is a very cool museum all about music.
We watched Michael Jackson's Thriller on an IMAX sized screen.  They have a great Jimi Hendrx exhibit.

There was so much information about Jimi Hendrix.  It was really interesting.  He accomplished so much in such a short time.
This was such a cool display of instruments.
This was Duane Allman's guitar.
This was Eric Clapton's.  Both this one & the one above were used on Layla.
This was the guitar Jimi Hendrix used at Woodstock.
There are many instruments you can try and lots of "sound" rooms that you can use for 10 minutes to play different instruments.

Dave and I even "performed" in our own band The Adventurers.  We didn't buy the video and I really hope they destroyed it.  I don't want to see it on YouTube.
This next picture is for Colton who is taking taekwondo.
Dave also tried to get a picture of the Space Needle.
This morning when we got up at the casino it was pretty foggy.

The fog cleared and we were on our way to our last U.S. Campsite in Blaine, Washington.

We arrived at our campsite in Blaine this afternoon.  I forgot to take a picture and it's too dark now.  We only have about 5 miles to the Canadian border and customs tomorrow, then the drive to the ferry terminal, the long wait, the long ride, then the drive to Parksville.  We may not see the grandkids for a couple of days.  Dave caught a cold yesterday, I got it today.  The first one we've had all winter.  We will be on Vancouver Island for two months.  I don't expect to be blogging often.
