Almost there

We left Mazatlan Wednesday morning and had a very long, very scenic day of driving.
These "taxis" used to be driven by someone pedalling a bicycle.  Times have changed.

At any place on the road where you are forced to drive slowly there are things for sale.

We were thankful for some clouds.
It was a gorgeous drive.
Avoiding tree branches can be a challenge.

It was very slow going.  Most of the time the speed limit fluctuated from 40-60 km per hour.  If you got stuck behind a semi it was even worse especially going uphill.

Lots of pretty flowers.
Notice the tiny feet in this picture.
We had a heck of a time finding our campground.  Apparently they removed their sign because they were going to be charged some kind of fee for having it up.  We missed the entrance and drove up a dead end road with no place to turn around.  I walked behind the trailer and Dave backed up all the way down the road.  Luckily there was no traffic.
Damage for the day:  three magnetic spice jars fell down, one is dented, but luckily none of them opened.
We finally arrived at La Parota RV Park in Lo de Marcos.

These two baby turtles were just about to be released on the beach.
The actual time in Lo de Marcos is the same as Alberta time, however, they use Manitoba time because that is the same time as Puero Vallarta.  Apparently too many people miss their flights in PV and they just find this easier.
This morning I didn't get a very good sunrise picture when I took Cleo for a walk on the beach.
There's our trailer.
Today was a day of fixing things for Dave.  He started with the kitchen sink which was a big job.  I can't use it until 1:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Then he did a repair on the bathroom window which had nothing to do with our trip.  He also had to fix something to do with the backup camera.
We think we are really going to like it here.  It's a really nice park and we've met some really nice people.  They have been coming here for years and had lots of great things to tell us.  Dave is very excited to find out that lots of musicians come to the park for the winter.  We met a guy today who plays the dobro and his favourite type of music to play is the blues.
We managed to fit in three swims in the ocean today.  The water temperature is like bath water, not very refreshing, but really nice with a nice sandy bottom.
I bought 4 red snapper for 60 pesos which is $4.80.  The fisherman pulled up on the beach and had them in his cooler.  He had just caught them.  He took them home & fileted them for me.
We were still sitting on the beach enjoying the cool breeze when I took this picture.
We are planning to check out the town tomorrow.
I won't be blogging every day now that we are settled here.  If we do anything interesting I will keep you posted.
