Beach Camping!

We left Punta Banda first thing in the morning.  The drive was very interesting.  Lots of hills/mountains, agricultural, small towns.
We had some great roads.
Saw a lot of vineyards.
Lots of mountains.
Cattle crossings.
More great highway.
Time for a body break.
More great highway.
Baja buggies here for the Baja 1000 off road race beginning November 12th.
Strawberries as far as the eye can see.

Baja bicycle shop.  A little different from Arrowsmith Bikes on Vancouver Island.
Some type of cactus.
Bicycles are a major form of transportation for all ages.
Picture is a little blurry but it was a scenic road.
Just finished fuelling up.
On the road to the campground.
We have arrived at Lazaro Cardenas.  On our first walk down the beach unfortunately we didn't take a camera.  We saw dolphins "body surfing" in the waves.  It was so cool!
As you can see some of us are very happy to be there.
Those are our RV's you can see in the background.
We had a bonfire and Fidel, the owner of the campground brought some huge clams and cooked them for us.
The next morning was beautiful again with great waves.
BTW, we are dry camping.  We had steak & lobster for dinner. We're really roughing it.
The end of another perfect day.
We left Lazaro Cardenas in the morning.  We had good roads & not very good roads.  We said goodbye to the ocean for now.
This was a great road.
This is a sign for a military checkpoint.  We've gone through a couple of them & they have just waved us through.
The scenery is starting to change.
We're starting to see cactus.
Time for a body break.
Very interesting landscape. Lots of cactus.
And now for the rocks.
This is the boulder fields of Catavina.
Some roads are pretty narrow and a lot don't have shoulders.
We made a quick stop at a gift shop that sells items made of onyx.  No pictures.
We arrived at our campground in Catavina, set up, had lunch and then we were off on an excursion.
We went to see cave paintings which are over 6000 years old.
Coming out of the cave.
Margarita time!
These are growing in the campground.
A pre-dinner gathering.
Most of us went for dinner to a restaurant in the campground. Dinner was two tacos, one enchilada, rice & beans for 80 pesos.  That is less than $8.00 and it was great.  We ended the evening with a bonfire and an early night.  We are on the road again tomorrow.
We were travelling in the clouds this morning.  We saw more amazing scenery.
Body break.
We saw much more greenery than normal thanks to hurricane Odile
Lots of burros on the left.
The landscape is constantly changing.  We have seen things we've never seen before.
We arrived at our campground in Guerrero Negro just after lunch time and we were off to Tony's Tacos.  We had a choice of fish tacos or shrimp tacos and they were delicious!
Our campground is not too exciting, no ocean front this time, however they have a restaurant that is supposed to have the best food in the Baja.  It is where the Mexican president eats when he comes here for whale watching.
Please excuse the spelling & grammar mistakes.  I have no time for proofreading.
We had a great dinner.
We have three women driving RV's in our caravan which I am very impressed by.
We are on the move again tomorrow.
I highly recommend you check out Dan's blog.  http://www.bajaamigos.net. He has so much great information about our trip on there.  So far, he has two postings related to our tour.
