Palm Trees!

Cleo was wondering what happened to her ocean view.

We woke up to a gorgeous, sunny day.  Our travels today were uneventful (which is a good thing), and mostly pretty boring scenery.
First sighting of palm trees was quite exciting.
Very strange trees.
Orange trees right at the entrance to our campground in Coalinga, California.
Home sweet home.
This is the strangest fire pit at the end of our site.  It's waist high.  It's the only one I've seen in the campground.
For your information, the price we have paid for diesel so far in the US has varied from .98/per litre to $1.06/per litre, however when you convert that to Canadian it is $1.11 to $1.20.  Still a bit better than at home but hopefully it will get better yet.
The speed limit on most of the highways in California is 70 miles per hour, however for trucks and for towing anything it is 55 miles per hour.  I am beginning to see why so many people have motorhomes. As long as they are not towing they can fly down the highway.
One thing we found interesting is that there are no signs on the highway stating that hitchhiking is illegal.  We saw many signs like that in BC.  Anyway, the interesting part about the hitchhikers is that they are so lazy, they don't even stand up and stick their thumb out.  They just sit on the side of the highway waiting for someone to pick them up.  It's really strange to see people sitting on the edges of highways.
It was 65 farenheit today which is 18 celsius.  It is creeping up.  Could we see 20 tomorrow?
G'nite.
